The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has finally certified Boeing's 737 MAX 7, marking a significant milestone for the American planemaker. This comes after years of delays and scrutiny following two fatal crashes in 2018 and 2019.

Boeing faced a more stringent certification process due to these incidents, as well as concerns over its production and quality systems. The FAA required Boeing to implement key improvements, including updates to the flight-control software, flight crew alerting system, and engine anti-ice system.

The 737 MAX 7 offers 135 to 160 seats and provides about 10% more range potential than other MAX planes. With this certification, Boeing is preparing for first deliveries, with Southwest Airlines set to be the launch customer.
