FAA Flags Potential Cracks in Boeing 737 MAX Planes
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has flagged potential cracks in the fuselage skin and bear strap around the forward upper corner of the forward galley door cutout on Boeing's 737 MAX planes.
This issue affects over 470 aircraft, including the 737 MAX 8, 9, and high-density 8-200 models. The FAA has mandated inspections starting from September 10, which will be carried out by airlines to check for existing repairs and potential cracks.
The airworthiness directive was issued after Boeing reported possible issues in December 2024, leading the FAA to publish a notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) in November last year.
