FAA Orders Inspections of Boeing 737 Max Jets Over Structural Integrity Concerns

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has ordered inspections of over 470 Boeing 737 Max jets due to concerns about cracks in a critical component. The issue affects the structural integrity of the aircraft, with potential for the cracks to spread to the fuselage.

The directive applies to the 737-8, 737-9, and 737-8200 variants currently in service, including 823 planes in the US. The FAA estimates that the regulation will affect 471 jets in total.

Boeing has been aware of the issue for six years, and the company has already conducted an engineering analysis to address the problem. However, the FAA-mandated checks are a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of passengers.
