FAA Orders Inspections on 471 Boeing 737 MAX Jets Over Potential Fuselage Cracks
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has ordered inspections on 471 Boeing 737 MAX jets registered in the US due to potential fuselage cracks near the forward galley door.
According to reports, the FAA mandated these inspections as a precautionary measure after Boeing issued an alert in 2024 and the FAA proposed regulations in late 2025.
The affected models are the 737 MAX 8, MAX 9, and MAX 8-200 built through early 2023, with airlines required to perform recurring checks starting September 10.
Global impact exceeds 1,400 jets as the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has adopted the directive, mirroring the FAA's requirements.
