On August 30th in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) suffered their first loss of the season, falling to Antigua and Barbuda Falcons (ABF) by a significant margin of 65 runs.

The Falcons' bowlers set the tone early on with Alzarri Joseph's four-wicket performance in the powerplay. He struck three times in quick succession to break the backbone of the Warriors' batting lineup, leaving them reeling at 82 for seven after six overs.

Despite a late surge by Shadab Khan, who scored 30 off just nine balls, the Falcons' total proved too much for the Warriors. They eventually fell short by 65 runs, with Mohammad Nabi being given out lbw to Joshua James on the final delivery of the match.

GAW captain Moeen Ali acknowledged that his team's loss was a good thing in a way, stating that every team has a bad day and it's better to have one early in the tournament rather than later on when the stakes are higher.
