Fast Food Frenzy: Beloved 80s Menu Items Make a Comeback Wish List
In the 1980s, fast food chains like McDonald's, Taco Bell, Burger King, Domino's, KFC, Pizza Hut, and Wendy's offered a range of beloved items that have since been discontinued. Among these is the McD.L.T., a cheeseburger served in a split styrofoam container introduced by McDonald's in 1985.
The Cinnamon Crispas, deep-fried tortilla chips sprinkled with cinnamon sugar, were another popular item at Taco Bell from late 1979 until they were replaced by Cinnamon Twists in 1989.
Burger King's Burger Bundles, a trio or six-pack of silver dollar-sized beef patties, were discontinued in 1987. Domino's Breakfast Pizza, introduced in 1985 and featuring an egg, American cheese, bacon, and sausage, was also short-lived due to logistical hurdles and low sales.
The McPizza at McDonald's, released in 1989, included marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, and various toppings but was discontinued by 2000 due to cooking time. Kentucky Fried Chicken's Kentucky Nuggets, introduced in 1984, were nuggets coated in the company's secret blend of herbs and spices.
The Priazzo at Pizza Hut, launched in 1985 for $8, featured a double crust with options like the classic Roma and meat-lovers Milano, but was discontinued by 1991. Finally, Wendy's Hot Stuffed Baked Potatoes were fan favorites, topped with cheese, bacon, and more.
Although some fans have expressed enthusiasm about bringing back these items, it remains to be seen whether they will return to menus or become the subject of nostalgia-driven special releases.
