FDA Cuts Monitoring Time for Lung Cancer Treatment from 22 Hours to Just 6-8

The FDA has approved an update to the IMDELLTRA treatment for extensive-stage small cell lung cancer, reducing the recommended monitoring time for the first two doses from 22-24 hours to 6-8 hours.

This change is expected to ease treatment delivery in community settings and make it more feasible for patients to receive care closer to home.

'People being treated for small cell lung cancer are already navigating an aggressive and difficult-to-treat disease, and the time required to receive and monitor treatment can add to that burden for both patients and care centers,' said Jay Bradner, M.D., executive vice president at Amgen.
