Federal Circuit Revives Patent Challenge Against Cisco's Webex System

The US Patent and Trademark Office will review Zilkr Cloud Technologies LLC's patent in an administrative challenge, after the Federal Circuit vacated a tribunal's ruling invalidating its cloud-technology patent.

The patent, US Patent No. 9,210,254, was previously accused by Zilkr of being infringed upon by Cisco Systems Inc.'s Webex cloud-based phone system.

The appeals court agreed with Zilkr that the tribunal had misinterpreted two terms from the patent, leading to the conclusion that several of its claims were obvious.
