Federal Judge Blocks Mail Ballot Rules in Nevada
A federal judge has blocked new mail ballot rules in Nevada, a move that is seen as a victory for election officials who have been fighting to maintain the state's voting laws.
The Republican National Committee had filed a lawsuit seeking to prevent Nevada from counting mail ballots received after Election Day. However, the court order blocking the new rules means that voters will still be able to submit their ballots by mail even if they arrive after November 3rd.
Nevada Secretary of State Cisco Aguilar praised the court's decision, stating that 'the President's objective is to cause chaos in the hope that voters will give up and simply not participate.' Aguilar emphasized that Nevada's election officials remain focused on providing safe, secure, and accessible elections for voters this fall.
