Fervo Strikes Deal with Google for 400MW Geothermal Power

Fervo Energy Co., a geothermal developer, has made significant strides in its mission to provide sustainable power. The company recently announced that it has signed an agreement with Alphabet Inc.'s Google to supply almost 400 megawatts of electricity from its Cape Station project in southwestern Utah.

The deal, which was unveiled on September 1, 2026, is expected to begin providing power to Google's prospective data center in 2028. Fervo's stock price surged by as much as 26% following the announcement, marking the largest gain in over a month.

This development highlights the growing demand for renewable energy sources and the increasing interest from major tech companies like Google in sustainable power solutions.
