Fidler Launches Veeda AI to Revolutionize Robot Interaction
Sanja Fidler, former head of Nvidia's Toronto AI lab, has launched Veeda AI to tackle how robots interact with the physical world through AI. She announced this on LinkedIn alongside her longtime Nvidia colleagues Zan Gojcic and Huan Ling, who will serve as CTO and chief scientist respectively.
Fidler stated that Veeda's sole mission is to build simulated reality for Physical AI, which she believes will become the critical infrastructure layer for all areas of robotics. The startup will focus on world models, AI models trained on physical, spatial, and movement data about the environment.
Veeda AI has raised $90 million USD ($124 million CAD) from investors so far, backed by Toronto's Radical Ventures and Silicon Valley firm Khosla Ventures. Fidler had announced her departure from Nvidia earlier this month, citing world models as 'where the next breakthrough lies.'
