Firmus Valuation Soars to Over $10.5 Billion with Record Nvidia-Backed Fundraise
Firmus has nearly doubled its valuation to over $10.5 billion in just four months, thanks to a $2 billion equity raise led by Nvidia and Coatue Management. The investment values Firmus' post-money above $10.5 billion, more than double its previous valuation of $5.5 billion from an earlier round in April.
The company plans to use the funds to accelerate the build-out of AI factories in Australia and Asia Pacific, as part of its Project Southgate initiative. Firmus builds infrastructure based on Nvidia's DSX AI Factory Reference Architecture, with which it struck a deal in late June for Firmus to buy Nvidia infrastructure and sell Nvidia-powered cloud services.
This investment demonstrates continued appetite for AI investments despite growing concerns about heavy spending and the sustainability of the AI boom. As Emanuel Ajay Datt, managing director of Datt Group, noted, 'The pace at which Firmus has re-rated demonstrates how private capital views AI infrastructure as one of the few capital-scarce opportunities in global markets right now.'
