Google has launched its latest fitness tracker, the Fitbit Air, which is set to compete with Whoop and other health and wellness devices. The screenless device weighs just 12 grams and boasts a battery life of up to seven days. Its advanced sleep tracking capabilities will also monitor heart rate rhythms and alert users to atrial fibrillation.
The Fitbit Air comes in at an affordable price point of $99.99, with the special edition Stephen Curry model available for $129.99. The device automatically detects workouts and tracks activities such as swimming, with a water resistance rating of up to 50 meters. Preorders are already live, with the tracker set to ship on May 26.
One of the standout features of the Fitbit Air is its simplicity and user-friendly design. Google aims to bring a level of ease to fitness tracking with this device, making it accessible to those who may have been put off by more complicated devices in the past. The special edition Stephen Curry model features a Performance Loop band with increased airflow during intense activity.
