Flight Simulation Community Gets Boost with Hong Kong Scenery Update and WWII Fighter Announcement
The flight simulation community received exciting news recently as developers announced new additions to Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS) 2024 and MSFS 2020. One of these updates comes from SamScene3D, which released its Hong Kong City Times 2026 scenery pack. This massive upgrade includes over 600 custom building models, more than 300 additional models compared to the original version, and over 100 existing models reworked for improved texture quality.
The scenery also features thousands of autogen buildings enhanced using AI-assisted techniques, as well as added landmarks throughout Hong Kong. Night lighting and visual effects have been upgraded, providing a more immersive experience. The city's coverage, detail, and atmosphere have also been improved, while models have been optimized for better frame-rate performance.
In addition to the scenery update, Aeroplane Heaven announced its rendition of the WWII fighter Bell P39 Airacobra for MSFS. While it's still in development, the team is unsure whether it will be released before or after the B-17, which suffered a development setback.
