Flipkart and Amazon Struggle with Declining User Share
E-commerce giants Flipkart and Amazon are expanding their services to combat declining user share. The combined monthly active user share of both companies has fallen from 67% in 2022 to 53% in August, while quick commerce apps have seen a rise to 16%. The drop is attributed to the growing popularity of platforms offering 10-minute delivery.
The companies are aggressively pushing into new areas such as microdramas, in-app OTT videos, and food delivery to regain their lost ground. They are also rapidly expanding their quick commerce operations to compete with early movers in this segment.
