Two men from Hialeah, Florida were arrested by the North Port Police Department for their alleged involvement in an organized retail crime group.

According to authorities, Yojander Delgado Marrero, 36, and Kleidy Martinez Portal, 39, were part of a group that targeted Home Depot locations in Englewood and Venice, with North Port being their next target.

The pair was arrested at Salford Boulevard and Tamiami Trail before they could reach the North Port Home Depot, where officials say they planned to strike.

A total of $4,000 worth of merchandise was recovered and returned to the affected stores, including items such as a stroller, a multi-use pump sprayer, and power outlets.

Authorities claim that the duo is connected to over 70 thefts across the state, resulting in hundreds of thousands of dollars in stolen goods.

Both Delgado Marrero and Martinez Portal are currently being held in the Sarasota County Jail on charges of coordinated theft with no bond.
