A man in Lady Lake, Florida, has been arrested for allegedly failing to return a boom lift rented from Home Depot.

According to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department, Adam Michael Billings, 36, rented a JLG 50-foot boom lift from Home Depot on July 6. The rental agreement stated that it was to be returned by 6:05 p.m. on July 7.

However, Billings never returned the equipment, and several attempts were made to contact him by phone and mail without a response. A certified letter was sent to his address, which was delivered on July 15.

Billings claimed he never received any notifications, but an investigation revealed that the rental agreement had been signed by him. He was subsequently arrested for failing to return leased property over $300, and booked at the Lake County Jail with a bond of $2,500.
