flydubai Fleet Surpasses 100 Planes as New Deliveries Boost Capacity

flydubai's fleet is set to exceed 100 aircraft as it takes delivery of 11 new planes this year. The airline will receive seven Boeing 737-9 Max and four Boeing 737-8 Max, which will feature upgraded cabins with lie-flat business class seats and expanded baggage capacity.

The deliveries are part of flydubai's fleet modernisation strategy, replacing older aircraft as it expands its network. Last year, the airline took delivery of 12 Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft, increasing its fleet to 97 jets.

flydubai's chief executive Ghaith Al Ghaith stated that these deliveries are central to their long-term fleet strategy, providing capacity and flexibility to support growing operations while operating one of the youngest and most fuel-efficient fleets in the skies.

The airline has also launched a new cabin retrofit programme, which will see 21 Boeing 737 Max aircraft upgraded with lie-flat business class seats over the next 12 months. Existing overhead bins will be replaced with larger ones, accommodating up to six standard-sized bags compared to four in a standard bin.
