flydubai Takes Off with Dedicated Air Cargo Operations
flydubai will launch dedicated air cargo operations on October 1, 2026, at Al Maktoum International Airport. This move aims to strengthen Dubai's position as a global logistics and trade hub.
The airline will add three Boeing 737-800 freighters to its fleet under a comprehensive lease agreement with Solitair. These aircraft will provide an additional payload capacity of 23,000kg per flight.
flydubai plans to evaluate the possibility of converting passenger aircraft into freighters from 2029 onwards. The airline's Chief Executive Officer, Ghaith Al Ghaith, said: 'Dubai has established itself as one of the world's most connected hubs for e-commerce, trade and logistics.'
The launch of dedicated air cargo operations will enable charter services and scheduled point-to-point cargo flights across more than 125 destinations.
