flydubai, the sister airline of Emirates, is expanding its operations by launching dedicated freighter flights. The airline will operate three Boeing 737-800 freighters, provided by lessor SolitAir, starting October 1. These aircraft will be based at Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) and will offer main-deck cargo capabilities.

The new service is expected to increase flydubai's payload capacity per flight by 23,000 kg. The airline plans to use these freighters to transport high-demand sectors such as pharmaceuticals, perishables, live animals, dangerous goods, and aerospace components.

Flydubai already operates a fleet of 98 passenger Boeing 737 aircraft and uses belly cargo to subsidize its income. However, with the introduction of dedicated freighter operations, the airline aims to increase its cargo capacity further.
