Former Coca-Cola Employee William Thomas 'Tom' Barksdale Jr. Passes Away at 78
William Thomas 'Tom' Barksdale Jr., a 78-year-old man from Ooltewah, Tennessee, passed away on September 12th, 2026. Born in Beaumont, Texas, on July 28th, 1948, Tom spent his childhood in the Bluff Park area of Birmingham before attending the University of Montevallo.
After graduating in 1969, Tom served in the Air National Guard from 1970 to 1971. Following this service, he began a long and dedicated career with Coca-Cola Bottling Company United that spanned over 40 years, starting in June 1971 and concluding in August 2011.
In his free time, Tom enjoyed working on various types of motors, restoring antiques, wood turning, fishing, and gardening. He was also an avid listener to classic rock music and Atlanta Braves games.
