Former Controller Accused of Unauthorized Transactions on Two AmEx Cards
Brett Burdges, a former controller at Custom Built Cabinet & Supply in Shreveport, is wanted for allegedly making unauthorized transactions on two American Express business cards. The approximate total of these transactions was $139,487.74.
According to investigators, Burdges had one legitimate American Express Blue Card for company expenses but also opened a second card, an American Express Platinum Card, under the business account without authorization from the owners. This second card was used between February and August 2026, overlapping with some of the unauthorized activity on the first card.
The suspected fraud came to light in August 2026 after American Express contacted one of the company's owners about questionable charges. The owner then initiated an internal review of financial records, which uncovered numerous transactions investigators say had not been authorized by the business.
