Nvidia's Founders Edition graphics cards are often misunderstood.

The term 'Founders Edition' doesn't indicate that they're limited edition, but rather that they're the base models produced by Nvidia before other manufacturers create their own versions based on these designs.

Founders Edition cards offer several advantages over their non-Founders counterparts. For one, they're often cheaper. When the GeForce RTX 5090 launched, Nvidia sold it for $1,999, while Asus' TUF RTX 5090 ranged from $2,299.99 to $3,099.99.

This cost difference isn't just about initial prices; Founders Edition cards also save space in your PC. The standard GeForce RTX 5090 is 11.96 x 5.39 inches and requires only two GPU slots, whereas Asus' TUF RTX 5090 is significantly larger at 13.7 x 5.7 inches and needs 3.6 slots.
