Franklin County Habitat Affiliate Secures Grant for Veteran Home Repairs
Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County has received a Repair Corps grant to rewire a local veteran's home. The Home Depot Foundation is funding this project, which aims to improve safety and reliability at the property. The repairs will be conducted through Habitat for Humanity's Repair Corps program, specifically designed for U.S. military veterans with critical home repair needs.
The Repair Corps grant will enable Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County to complete essential electrical repairs that ensure a safer and more secure living environment for the veteran. According to Sheila Overstreet, CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County, 'We are grateful for this Repair Corps grant and for the continued commitment of The Home Depot Foundation to veterans and their families.'
Over 1,000 Habitat affiliates help U.S. military veterans address critical home repair needs through the Repair Corps program. Repairs may include work that alleviates health, safety or code concerns, including electrical system repairs and improvements.
