From IIT to Google: Vedic Mishra's Unconventional Career Journey
Vedic Mishra, an IIT alumnus and Bengaluru-based technology expert, recounts his inspiring career journey marked by significant challenges. He shares how he overcame early career struggles at Samsung, mastered Salesforce, and eventually secured a position at Google.
Mishra reflected on the tribulations he encountered during his formative stages at Samsung, where coding was not his forte. Instead of succumbing to these obstacles, he drew inspiration from his IIT journey and nurtured a belief that he could surmount his deficiencies in coding and technical prowess.
In 2024, Mishra dedicated two months to an intensive study regimen, investing 6 to 8 hours daily to bolster his competencies. He prepared for Salesforce by exploring data structures and algorithms (DSA), system design, and various technology stacks via online courses, literature, and articles on Medium.
Mishra's relentless effort culminated in his acquisition of a role at Salesforce, but attaining the position did little to assuage his lingering self-doubt regarding his rightful place among the elite in technology. He expressed that even after successfully navigating multiple rigorous interview rounds at Salesforce and Amazon, it continued to feel like an anomaly.
