Frozen 3 Concept Art Revealed: Original Gang Returns for Sequel

The wait is almost over for Frozen fans as Walt Disney Animation Studios has revealed concept art and shared footage from its upcoming sequel, Frozen 3. The film will open on November 24, 2027, and will be directed by Jennifer Lee and Trent Correy. Christina Chen will produce the movie, while Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez will return to write the songs.

The original gang is back, with Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Josh Gad, and Jonathan Groff reprising their roles as Anna, Elsa, Olaf, and Kristoff. In a recent D23 reveal, Bell revealed that Anna will marry Kristoff in the sequel, while Menzel teased that the world of Frozen has become 'a little bit more mysterious' since audiences were last in Arendelle.

The new footage showed Elsa out on a dock, studying a mysterious stone that opens a portal into a snowy dimension. The sisters meet a new character, a woman in a cape whose face is unseen, in this frozen land, described by Menzel as 'more wild and dangerous than anything Elsa has ever created.'

Gad joined Bell and Menzel on stage to sing new music from the film, including a song about Olaf's one true love, Samantha. The studio previously announced that a fourth Frozen film is also in development.
