FSSAI Cracks Down on Major Food Brands with Over 150 Notices for Alleged Non-Compliance
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has launched a crackdown on major food and beverage companies, issuing over 150 notices for alleged non-compliance with regulations.
The affected companies include Nestle, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola, Red Bull, Mondelez, Danone, Ferrero, Monster Energy, Abbott, Diageo, Pernod Ricard, Amazon, Flipkart, KFC, McDonald's, Pizza Hut, Domino's, and Costa Coffee.
The notices relate to concerns over misleading advertisements, false claims, and labelling non-compliances. FSSAI has also seized products from some companies during its enforcement actions.
The regulator is tightening its watch on the food industry, with a focus on ensuring accurate labelling and compliance with regulations. This move comes as food-safety enforcement becomes a bigger public conversation in India.
