The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued over 150 notices to major food and beverage companies, including Nestle, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola, and others. The regulator is scrutinizing these companies for alleged non-compliance with labelling rules, misleading advertisements, and false claims about their products.

The crackdown includes not only packaged food brands but also e-commerce companies like Amazon and Flipkart, as well as restaurants such as KFC, McDonald's, Pizza Hut, Domino's, and Costa Coffee. In some cases, licences have been suspended or cancelled.

FSSAI is taking a closer look at how food is made, marketed, and sold in India. The regulator has emphasized that accurate labelling matters, allowing consumers to understand what products contain and what claims are actually supported.
