FTC Slams Amazon with $20 Billion Lawsuit Over Manipulated Ad Auctions
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has filed a $20 billion lawsuit against Amazon, alleging that the e-commerce giant manipulated its advertising auctions to drive up prices for advertisers.
According to the FTC, Amazon raised minimum prices in certain ad auctions and used other practices that caused advertisers to pay more than they otherwise would have.
The lawsuit was filed by the FTC along with 22 states, who claim that Amazon's actions were unfair and deceptive.
