FTC Sues Amazon Over Alleged Advertising Price Manipulation
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has filed a lawsuit against Amazon.com Inc. AMZN, along with 22 state attorneys general, accusing the company of manipulating its advertising auction system and overcharging advertisers.
The lawsuit claims that Amazon adds fees on top of the bids placed by merchants, inflating the actual prices they pay beyond competitive levels.
Amazon has refuted these allegations, asserting that advertisers adjust their bids based on performance and never pay more than their bid amounts.
