G20 Ministers Urged to Build AI Infrastructure Amid Growing Backlash
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang implored G20 ministers to build more data centers during their meeting in North Carolina, citing the growing importance of artificial intelligence infrastructure.
Huang emphasized that AI is not a threat, but rather an essential component of modern economies. He stated, 'In the end, what every single country will have to recognize is that (AI) is infrastructure, just as it's water, roads, electricity, the internet.'
Nvidia's GPUs are at the heart of AI development, and Huang argued that data centers provide a crucial platform for researchers, students, and industries. He warned against overregulation, saying governments should focus on 'actual and pragmatic harm' rather than hypothetical risks.
