Galanz Refrigerator Recall Issued Due to Fire Hazard
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a recall for 121,680 refrigerators sold under the Galanz brand due to a risk of electrical components short circuiting and igniting. According to the CPSC, these appliances were sold at Home Depot locations nationwide and online at Amazon.
The manufacturer learned that internal electrical components can pose a serious injury or death from fire and burn hazards. There have been 34 reports of fires involving the refrigerators, with one resulting in a fatality.
Customers who own these refrigerators are advised to unplug them immediately and contact Galanz to schedule a free in-home repair by a technician.
