A recall has been issued for certain models of Galanz Retro Refrigerators due to faulty electrical components that can cause them to short circuit and catch fire.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall, citing 34 reports of fires, including one death. Nearly 122,000 units were sold between January 2019 and September 2022 in Home Depot stores and on Amazon.com.

The affected models are BCD-215V-62H, GLR76TRDER, GLR76TBKER, GLR76TBEER, and GLR76TWEER. Date codes range from December 2018 to December 2020, printed on a white label in the upper left-hand corner of the unit's back.

Consumers are advised to unplug the refrigerator and contact Galanz for a free in-home repair by a qualified technician.
