Galanz Retro Refrigerator Recall Affects Over 121,000 Units
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a recall for approximately 121,680 units of Galanz Retro Refrigerators due to electrical component short-circuiting and ignition risks. The refrigerators, manufactured by Zhongshan Galanz in China, were sold at Home Depot stores across the country and online on Amazon.com between $330 and $530.
The recall applies to refrigerators with date codes ranging from December 2018 through December 2020, and includes specific model numbers. The company estimates that about 121,680 refrigerators are affected, which is a significant number considering the potential risks involved.
Galanz Americas Limited Company, the importer of these refrigerators, has advised consumers to unplug and stop using the recalled units immediately until they're repaired.
