Galanz Retro Refrigerator Recall Issued Over Electrical Safety Concerns
Galanz Americas Limited Company has initiated a voluntary recall of approximately 121,680 units of Galanz Retro Refrigerators due to electrical component issues that can cause short-circuits and ignite. This poses serious injury or death from fire and burn hazards.
The recalled refrigerators were manufactured by Zhongshan Galanz in China and imported by Home Depot and Galanz Americas. The devices were sold at Home Depot stores across the country and online on Amazon.com for between $330 and $530.
According to the recall report, 34 reports of fire have been made involving these refrigerators, with one reported fatality. Consumers are advised to unplug and stop using the recalled refrigerators immediately until they're repaired.
