Galaxy Users Struggle with Google Messages After Smart Switch
Samsung Galaxy users are experiencing issues with Google Messages after switching to a new phone using Smart Switch. Some affected users report seeing error code 3100 when trying to enable RCS or send messages on their new devices.
Google has identified corrupted cache files transferred through the Smart Switch process as a potential cause of the problem. To resolve the issue, Google recommends updating to the latest version of Google Messages, turning off RCS, clearing Carrier Services data, restarting the phone, and enabling RCS again.
However, not all users have reported success with this workaround, with some requiring a factory reset to get RCS working again. This drastic measure does not guarantee a solution for everyone involved.
