Galaxy Watch Owners Get Better GPS with Google Update
Recent Galaxy Watches have already impressive GPS performance for outdoor sports and workouts. However, this feature can get even better thanks to a new update from Google.
The company has released an update to Google Play Services (v26.31) that allows Wear OS devices like Galaxy Watches to process raw location data server-side. This improves overall GPS accuracy for activities like cycling, running, and walking.
This feature will only work directly on the device for models with cellular connectivity. Those without cellular connectivity will still receive improved GPS data, but only after reconnecting to Wi-Fi or a paired smartphone.
