Gas Prices Reach $4.10 a Gallon Amid Big Earnings from Oil Giants
The national average price of gas has reached $4.10 a gallon as of August 1, 2026, according to recent data.
Chevron Corp. reported a significant increase in earnings for the second quarter of 2026, with a total of $12.1 billion, up from $2.5 billion in the same period last year.
In contrast, ExxonMobil earned $14.5 billion in the second quarter of 2026, more than double its earnings from the previous year.
