Gaston County Sting Nets 28 Arrests, Thousands in Stolen Goods

A multi-agency sting operation in Gaston County, North Carolina, has resulted in 28 arrests and the recovery of thousands of dollars in stolen merchandise.

The 'larceny blitz' involved local officers, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, and Homeland Security Investigations working together to stop shoplifters at 12 retail locations on August 4 and 6.

The stores targeted included Target, Lowe's, Home Depot, and Dick's Sporting Goods. Authorities focused on retailers that reported significant losses due to theft.

The operation led to 38 misdemeanor charges, eight felony charges, and the seizure of one firearm.
