GE Aerospace Engine Delivery Times Improve for Boeing's 787

GE Aerospace has made progress in delivering engines for Boeing's 787 Dreamliner program, according to a company executive. The improvement concerns GE Aerospace's GEnx engines, which power a substantial portion of the Boeing 787 fleet.

Better engine availability could help Boeing smooth aircraft assembly and customer handovers, although the company has not indicated that all supply-related challenges affecting the 787 program have been resolved.

The GEnx-1B is one of the engine options available for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The aircraft is also powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines, meaning changes in GE Aerospace's production output do not affect every aircraft in the 787 program equally.
