GE Aerospace's $12 Billion CPP Deal Wins Honeywell's Approval
Honeywell Aerospace's CEO, Jim Currier, has spoken positively about GE Aerospace's planned $12 billion purchase of Consolidated Precision Products (CPP).
The deal, which targets castings and forgings - dense metal parts that are hard to scale quickly after the pandemic - is seen as a move towards vertical integration.
This means GE Aerospace will own more of its supply chain, potentially reducing supplier problems and improving production schedules, quality checks, and staffing decisions.
Honeywell Aerospace has been rebuilding capabilities it outsourced in the 2010s and is open to 'bolt-on' mergers and acquisitions to gain more control over critical steps.
