Gemini App Lands on Windows: Google's AI Assistant Now Available for PC Users
Google has expanded its Gemini app to Windows, months after releasing it on macOS. The app, which provides instant assistance and fact-checking capabilities, can be accessed via a keyboard shortcut (Alt + Space). Users can employ Gemini for various tasks such as querying, document fact-checking, presentation ideas, image creation using Nano Banana, and video production with Gemini Omni.
Gemini Spark, the personal AI agent, enables users to connect compatible Google services like Gmail and Google Drive. However, this feature requires a Google AI subscription, which starts at $4.99 per month for the Google AI Plus plan. The AI Pro plan, usually priced at $20 per month, offers higher Gemini usage limits and 5TB of additional cloud storage.
The app is designed to run in the background without slowing down users' PCs, with more native desktop capabilities promised to roll out over time. Users can download the Gemini app from Google's website, compatible with both Windows 10 and Windows 11.
