Gemini App Soars Past 1 Billion Users, Sets New Record for Google
Google's AI-powered Gemini app has reached an impressive milestone - it now boasts over 1 billion monthly active users, making it the fastest-growing product in Google's history. This figure is a significant increase from the 650 million monthly active users reported in October 2025.
In a recent blog post, Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet, acknowledged this achievement, stating that '1B+ people are now using [the Gemini app] every month to spark new ideas and get things done.' He also highlighted the app's rapid growth, noting that it has become their 14th product to reach the 1 billion-user mark.
The Gemini app allows users to interact with AI in various ways, including voice commands, live camera feeds, and screen sharing. According to Google, 63% of users now talk directly to Gemini, while 1 in 5 interactions go beyond voice to include multimedia elements.
