Gemini Desktop App Lands on Windows for Instant AI-Powered Productivity
Google has expanded its Gemini desktop app to Windows, following its release on macOS in April. The app provides instant access to Google's AI capabilities and can be launched with an Alt + Space keyboard shortcut. This allows users to perform tasks such as fact-checking, generating title ideas, and creating custom images and videos without leaving their workflow.
The Gemini desktop app also features a 24/7 personal AI agent called Gemini Spark, which provides access to connected apps. Additionally, the app includes image (Nano Banana) and video (Gemini Nano) generation capabilities. The app's window is designed to be lightweight and quiet, with a side panel for accessing Notebooks and Recents.
Google has teased that more native desktop capabilities will be rolled out over time. The Gemini app is currently available on Windows 10 and 11, and can be downloaded from the Google website.
