Gemini Spark Integrates with Google Photos Workflows
Google's Gemini Spark AI assistant has been integrated with Google Photos workflows, allowing users to search, edit, curate, and organize their photo libraries through multi-stage tasks. This feature was added on September 3, 2026, and is currently rolling out to eligible adult Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the United States.
The integration combines various operations that would otherwise be handled separately, including searching for photos by subject, location, date, or event; selecting preferred shots; filtering duplicates; applying quick edits; and organizing results in an album. Spark can also create collages, stylized images, videos, event summaries, and visual stories.
However, the release does not give Gemini Spark unrestricted control over users' photos. Edits are saved as copies of the original file, newly created albums are private by default, and users must approve actions such as creating a shared album or sending an email with a link to their photo collection.
