Gemini Surpasses 1 Billion Monthly Users
Google's Gemini AI assistant has hit an impressive milestone, surpassing 1 billion monthly active users. This achievement comes just weeks after OpenAI's ChatGPT reached the same benchmark. The news was announced in a recent blog post from Google.
Gemini's growth has been rapid, with the company reporting 950 million monthly users less than a month ago in its latest earnings report. According to Google, 63% of users interact with Gemini through voice commands, with busy parents being 43% more likely to use voice for everyday tasks.
The AI assistant is also being used extensively on Apple devices, with over 100 million macOS users prompting twice as frequently as other platforms. Additionally, one in five interactions with Gemini involve screen sharing and live camera feeds.
Google shares fell 3.4% to $343.89 in the hour leading up to the closing bell on Tuesday, but are still up 9.6% for the year. The tech giant's AI image generation tool is also gaining popularity, with 150 million images generated every day.
