Gemini Upgrades Daily Commutes for Android Users
Google's AI assistant, Gemini, has been upgraded to make daily commutes more convenient for Android users. Gemini replaces Google Assistant and offers various features that can be used hands-free in a car with an Android Auto system.
To set up Gemini on an Android phone, users must first download the Gemini app from Google Play. They then need to go to Settings > Apps > Assistant > Digital assistants from Google, tap Gemini, and switch to confirm the action. On Samsung phones, the process is slightly different: go to Settings > Apps and choose default apps, then select Digital Assistant app and make sure it says Google.
For easy access, users must activate Gemini for hands-free use in their car. Open the Gemini app, tap the profile icon, and select Settings > Talk to Gemini hands-free. Enable Hey Google by tapping the Turn on button, confirming the action, and then tapping Done.
The next step is connecting the Android phone to the car. This can be done through a wired USB cable or a wireless Bluetooth connection. Once connected, go back to the Android Auto settings and tap Connect a vehicle. If using a wireless connection, choose the option to connect using wireless Android Auto and then select Bluetooth.
