Two women from Georgia have been sentenced for their involvement in a fraud scheme that defrauded Amazon of nearly $10 million. The scheme, which lasted six months in 2022, was carried out by Brittany Hudson and Kayricka Wortham, who used fake vendor invoices to get reimbursed for goods and services.

Wortham, an Amazon warehouse operations manager at the time, and Hudson, owner of a delivery company that contracted with Amazon, submitted more than 1,000 fake invoices to the e-commerce giant. They collected $9.4 million from their scheme, which they used to buy luxury items including an expensive home and two cars.

The women were charged in 2022, but while out on bond, they attempted to defraud another company in 2023. Hudson was recently sentenced to 16 years in prison, while Wortham will serve 17 years after being previously sentenced.
