Getafe City Council Criticizes Iberdrola Music Venue Mobility Chaos

The Getafe City Council has criticized the mobility management at Madrid's Iberdrola Music venue, citing road and pedestrian gridlock affecting residents of Getafe Norte and Los Molinos.

The council claims that instead of designing safe access and effective public transport from the capital, improvised solutions are being imposed. For example, a provisional traffic light under the M-45 has been set up for attendees of the Coca-Cola Music Experience festival, exacerbating the gridlock.

The Getafe City Council argues that this measure does not resolve the flow of tens of thousands of attendees and blocks daily access to homes and workplaces in Getafe. The council points out that concertgoers are being allowed to park in Getafe Norte or walk from the Los Espartales station, disregarding Getafe's technical requests to manage entry and evacuation flows within Madrid's municipal boundaries.

To mitigate the inconvenience for residents of Getafe Norte, the Getafe City Council will prevent non-resident vehicles from accessing the Coliseum parking. Additionally, improper motorcycle parking will be monitored, and taxi and VTC ranks will be prohibited.
