Ghana Tech University Partners for Smart Campus Connectivity
The Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU) has partnered with technology institutions to enhance digital access and innovation across its campuses. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with Celltel Networks Limited, Kludjeson Institute of Technology, and Cisco Academy aims to improve connectivity, support teaching and learning, and promote innovation.
According to Prof Ebenezer Malcalm, Acting Vice-Chancellor of the GCTU, reliable internet access is no longer a luxury but a requirement in today's digital economy. He noted that the proposed collaboration will create an environment where students can easily access knowledge, interact efficiently, and develop skills needed to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.
The MoU covers areas such as school-wide wireless connectivity, students and staff internet access services, smart campus technologies, digital learning and certification programs, device financing solutions, and broader digital inclusion initiatives. Dr Prince Kofi Kludjeson, President of Celltel Network Limited, stated that their partnership is to support GCTU in teaching ICT online to transform the country.
